Since the last yabbforum website update is the connection extremly slow.
I must wait over 30 sec. before i can start the next action. What's up with yabbforum.com (community board).
Before the update it was all ok.

Actually i receive the message: 504 Gateway Time-out

Thats bad, really bad

There seems to be an issue with the server, sourceforge's technical support is looking into the issue right now. You might have noticed that this forum also suffers some slowdown from time to time, but it's not quite as bad as on yabbforum.com. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

Forum was nearly unusable for me based in UK.

In excess of 30~45 secs per page load

are you refering to this forum or to yabbforum.com? We're currently testing a workaround there so speed should be stable again. I did not yet add the workaround to this board, but will do so soon.

I should have been better for a couple weeks now.  Michael wrote an NSFLock routine so that file locking is still possible on the type of server that SourceForge uses.  Previously the standard flock was causing problems there, so we had to turn off file locking altogether and risk data loss.

I have been unable to register on yabbforum.com.  I didn't get a board generated email asking me to confirm my registration. 

My daughter tried registering from another computer, with her own id, email, etc, from her college and had the same issue.

Can anyone here help me contact the yabbforum moderators?

Thanks for the suggestion.  I searched all of my mailboxes--no reply.

I submitted a question to Corey through the contact .php form and now I'll try and be patient.  I know that Corey and many others support YABB as a public service.

Derek,

Thanks so much for your offer.  I've installed YABB 2.5 on a server at a hosting service  for a website I maintain, and I consider having access to a support forum a first requirement before spending a lot of time evaluating any new program.

My linux skills are fairly rudimentary, and I must say that the installation documentation was outstanding--I was able to upload the perl script for YABB, change the file permissions, and gain access as admin in just a couple of hours.

It looks like there is indeed a problem registering over at YaBB - I just tried to register another account myself (just to test) and also didn't receive the activation email.

I've just sent Corey a PM about it, so hopefully it will get sorted out...

Emailing from the forum has been fixed, so forgot password, notifications, and registrations should now send out emails again.  The issue started on January 9 and was resolved late on January 24.
