This mod installed with no errors on a heavily modified 1.2 board. Would like to point out one problem I found. I noticed some features would stop working like the last X-Number of posts and I would be redirected back to the forum index when navigating the Admin Center. I fixed this problem by setting the $regcheck variable in Settings.pl. After this was set everything worked fine, but it doesn't seem to set either on/off by default.

Panther, to answer your question it is under your Preferences And Settings in the Admin Center grouped together with the other registration options.

As a guest trying to log into my board I get the following error after installing your mod:

Untrapped Error:
Undefined subroutine &main::validation_code called at ./Sources/Register.pl line 19.

Can you help?

GREAT mod! And the best... it installed with only ONE error on my board with more than 50 other mod installed  Grin . I was able to fix that step manually and it works now. Respect for the great work!

The installation was ok. The problem start as shown on the screen shot. The mod doesn't generate the gif picture. Of course I do know where to put the images files.

I highlighted the screen shot to show that the mod did create a box but never generate the gif file.

Wat errors that can cause that  ??? so i can manully edit it...

Hmmm, it's probably already been mentioned in the previous 4 pages somewhere, but since I can't be bothered to read them all Wink

There was a similar problem in the SP2 version of this, it was tracked down to Ron not using the protocol or something, let me find out and post it Wink

Great mod this.

I was wondering, why the need to obscure the code whilst typing it into the verication box? Unless there is a good reason for this that I'm missing, how would I change it so that the code can be read? The reason for this is that a random string is a pain to enter in when you aren't a touch typist.

Thanks.

Well, I've managed to understand enough of the code to do this. I just exchanged 'type="password"' to 'type="text"'. So easy, even I could do it! Smiley

If anyone can see a problem with this, something that I've totally failed to consider or understand, please post a reply.

Thanks.

No, changins password inputs to type inputs is perfectly legit. There's no other bit you need to change and it should be safe.

Carlos,

It's OK to change password for text mode as it only makes the text you type visible.
The only "insecurity" about this is that someone could look over your shoulder and watch you typing but as the code changes every time it's irrelevant.

I think it is kind of standard to make code fields password style.

Is there anyway to run this mod without using the <base href tag?

It's messing up other images on the page. Tongue

edit

... or maybe it isn't, i'm not sure anymore. Tongue
