Hi I have Installed the Avansed e-mail mod on my board but when I try to send mail to members I get an error like this:

An Error Has Occured!

Untrapped Error:
Undefined subroutine &main::advsendmail6 called at ./Sources/Admin.pl line 648.

So I whent into my ./Sources/Admin.pl  at line 648 and found this section in this file it reads this:

# Advanced System eMail Mod
     foreach $curmem (@emails) {
           &advsendmail6( $curmem, "$FORM{'subject'}", "$FORM{'message'}");
     }
# End Advanced System eMail Mod

Is this right? or should it say something diffrent?
Can enyone help and tell me where to correct this problem?
Thank you all.
Best Regards

Sorry Pyrrhon, no matter what I try (short of retyping steps 2, 7, 19 in manually), I can't get an install, then uninstall then reinstall to work cleanly without the extra spaces error. There is no problem now though with the mod for automatic installation and uninstallation (BoardMod was having a heck of a time with the uninstall prior to me changing 19).

Other than that - no problems with this mod as far as I have tested (Have tested welcome email, notify email, reminder email and email members so far).

Excellent job.

I haven't any problems with load - reload - load - reload ... this mod. The original code is always taken from the original YaBB.

In the 'Admin eMail' the following tags dont work -  [name],  [username] [password] [profile]

Are there any special tags that have to be used?

Hi Gurus Guru,

I'm not sure what you mean.

What happens, if you change the things in the email control center and you go to "Email your Members" in the admin center. Do you see the tags or not?

After entering the 'eMail Control Center' at the bottom of the page is the option 'Admin eMail'. The following message is typed in the email box:

Dear [name],

There has been a minor change in the Bulletin Board. Your new username is [username] and your new password is [password]

You may change it after you log in by going to the profile page or by visiting this page after you log in:

[profile]

Regards,
for [mbname]

The above message is received as it is. The tags remain as they. Their values don't change. The only tag that changes is [mbname]. It is replaced by the Board Name.

Dear Gurus Guru,

it seems that the mod works correctly on your board.

If you customize the admin emails with the advanced system email mod in the email center it changes what you see in the email field of "Emails your Members". In the email center and in emails your member you should see exactly the same, even all tags.

The tags are substituted by passwords, usersnames ... if you send an email to your members. To test it you can fill in the adress field of "emails your member" only your own email and send the email. You will get the templated email. This procedure can't be another because if you send the admin email to all members in the emails must be different names, username, passwords, and profiles.

Admin eMail
Use tags [adminname] (display name of the admin), [mbname] (name of the message board), [mburl] (url of the message board), [date] (the actual time) and [quote] (if the file quotes.txt in the variable directory exist, then an random line of this file), to include personalized details in the message.
Subject:
Email:

When you choose '- Email Your Members' in the 'Member Controls'  It does not replace ths tags of [name], [username], [password], [profile]

I have tried sending mails. It doesn't change.

In my forum it works well. Therefore some questions.

The tags are not changed, but the email is delivered?
Can you see changes you made and saved in Email Control Center, after that in your "Email Your Members"?

Have you made the mod with boardmod or by hand? In the second case, have you made step 6 and can now find
Code
Select All
# Advanced System eMail Mod
	foreach $curmem (@emails) {
		&advsendmail6( $curmem, "$FORM{'subject'}", "$FORM{'message'}");
	}
# End Advanced System eMail Mod

in your Admin.pl?

Yes I can see the changes that have been made.
It was made by BoardMod.

The Admin.pl has the following:
     @emails = split(/;\s*/, $FORM{'emails'});
# Advanced System eMail Mod
     foreach $curmem (@emails) {
           &advsendmail6( $curmem, "$FORM{'subject'}", "$FORM{'message'}");
     }
# End Advanced System eMail Mod
     $yySetLocation = qq~$cgi;action=admin~;
     &redirectexit;

In this section the following tags work:
[adminname] [mbname] [mburl] [date]

The value of these tags doesn't get replaced
[name], [username], [password], [profile]

P.S.
This is in reference to Admin eMail section only.

Register Welcome eMail, Register Password eMail are all working fine. It is only in the Admin eMail section, some of the tags are not getting replaced.

Oh, I see, what you have made is no bug report. The tags you have requested are not featured for Admin Emails. The decription of Admin Emails is:

Quote:
Use tags [adminname] (display name of the admin), [mbname] (name of the message board), [mburl] (url of the message board), [date] (the actual time) and [quote] (if the file quotes.txt in the variable directory exist, then an random line of this file), to include personalized details in the message.

You can't find the tags [name], [username], [password], and [profile]  in this list. Eventually it could be a later feature. But the background is that I have only a list of email adresses in the Email your Members section. To get from an email adress the member is expensive and therefore I had made the decision to skip these tags for this kind of system emails. Moreover you can fill in the Email Your Members Email Adresses from No Members. They would have no name, username, password, and no profile.

Thanks 'Pyrrhon'. The reason was that I am creating Members from a Database (School Alumni). The number is more than 1000. To send password individually to 1000 guys is tideous. Your Admin eMail (Email Your Members) would have just worked fine if the username and password tags could be replaced by the actual value.

Hi Gurus Guru,

for your purpose you can use the Advanced Memberview Plus mod. There you can send username, name and password to all or some user. By that you can also send profile links.
