This is what Im trying to say.

Before I installed the Mod. Categorys could be made Moderator or Admin access.

After the mod was installed the Moderator access is now gone, and we have Admin and Global Mod access.

There is nothing stoping you from creating a normal membergroup called "Moderator" and assigning this group to users in the normal way - although this will not automatically give the users moderator rights! Those would still have to be assigned on a "per board" basis.

(I suspect this may be what you did previously, and when you upgraded to Add-More-Membergroups, you didn't define any extra membergroups that you had added previously - they are not added automatically!)

Membergroups added using the standard YaBB Membergroup system are NOT transfered over to the one used by Add-More-Membergroups! Any existing membergroups will have to be re-defined!

Ok! I will shut up now, but I still feel the Category option is totally wrong with the Moderator access gone from the list, I can accept the Members profiles not having moderator listed because there would have to be a secondary option on boards covered by him.

But the Category listings is wrong to remove the Moderator. Because you now have to install another Mod to try to put things back to how things sort of were regarding the Moderator access to categorys. Which should not be the case.

Anyway thaks for you time!  8)

OK, lets stop the speculation - please look in your variables directory for a file called membergroups.txt - post the contents here.

Normally, the first line is the text used to identify an Administrator.
The second line is the text used to identify a moderator.
The next five lines are your post-dependant membergroups, starting at newbie and finishing with God.
Anything after this are additional membergroups that have been manually added. (this is usually limited to 5 additional membergroups, and I don't know how that double spacing will affect it!)

I have not manually edited that file I sent you, if there are any perculuar double spaces there, they were added by the mod itself, not me.

To be honest I'm NOT a coder, so sometimes what your saying to me is Double Dutch, and hard for me to understand what your trying to say!

So are you saying you can see problems there, or does everything look fine. I was not even really sure what you was looking for in the first place when you wanted the file.  Undecided

Just wish I knew how to sort these things out myself, buy hey we can't all be wizz kids!  Cheesy

OK, a little confusion over different file formats on different servers, but the zip file sorted that out:

As you can see each membergroup is listed twice! The first was the normal default membergroup, and the second was the manually added membergroup. YaBB by default ONLY lists the added membergroups when deciding catagory access, and only lists the added membergroups (with the Administrator membergroup) when assigning membergroups to users - did you perhaps notice administrator was listed twice in the profiles?

The key here is that the membergroups in yellow are not normally listed in YaBB, and had to be added manually!

Add-More-Membergroups DOESN'T use the membergroups.txt file, instead it uses it's own MemberStats.txt file.

This means that any membergroups manually added before Add-More-Membergroups was installed are never read by YaBB.

These membergroups will have to be manually added again using the Add-More-Membergroups mod.

So if you want to restrict catagory access to a membergroup called "Moderator", you will have to use Add-More-Membergroups to add a membergroup called "Moderator".

Ok I follow what you mean, just wish there was a MOD out there that only added more members groups only, and not the Global Mod.

So you were still left with the default settings with admid and Mod displayed in the Category options access list.

But the option to add extra members groups.

If there is a mod out there that can do this, I may remove the ADD MORE MEMBERS GROUPS mod, and install that instead.
