Ronnie, a poster elsewhere suggested I contact you with a slight problem, he seems to think you cured it for someone else, it's the blue square issue when Recent Users is used with the Calendar mod. I get a blue square at the bottom, see here :-

http://www.thetophouse.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi

Is there a fix for this, I tried installing the mods in different order but that didn't cure it.

TIA
Dion

I had this EXACT same issue on the last version of Yabb and found the fix here.  But darned if I can find it again.  It was a row change from 4 to 6 or something like that.  I posted in the troubleshooting boards, but haven't heard a thing in over a week from anyone.

If you find an answer I hope I see it!   Smiley

That was it, thanks!

Seems that it was a slight variation on that solution.

I only had a single line of 6:4 and just switched them to 10:8.

Thanks again!

Great mod but i don't like the javascript to resize the avatar.

It didn't work for me.
I usually use Mozilla and Netscape5.5

Need to rewrite the codes and get rid of the javascript
Thanks

Sorry for the delay, I've been on holiday.

digiSal - the writer of the Whoson mod said he would look into adding this to his mod, so you'd have to get in touch with him to find out.

tenl - the only change in 1.2.2 was one line for compatibility with the MSN Messenger mod, although it's by no means foolproof.

FAQ - if you're referring to the 1*1 pixel avatars problem then as is mentioned in the mod itself that's a known problem with the javascript code, which I borrowed from BHRA Webmaster, and he doesn't know what's up with it. You can disable javascript resizing by setting the width and height values to 0. Besides that, unless you know another way to intelligently resize images, we're kind of stuck. If it's not that problem, let me know what is the problem.

As for all the problems with getting the tables right, that's all caused because I've found it's virtually impossible to tell 100% whether the Calendar, Chat and MSN mods are also being shown in the Info Centre. Therefore it's impossible to correctly set the rowspan of the Recent Users cell "out of the box" for everyone.

The fix is to change the following line manually (preferably in the mod file before you apply it so that you can uninstall it later, or after you apply it it's in BoardIndex.pl)

Code
Select All
$rul_rowspan = ($username eq 'Guest') ? 6 : 4;

to increase both numbers by 2 for every mod you have that hasn't been auto-detected. So if you have the Calendar mod, and it hasn't been detected by the dodgy built-in compatibility, change that line to

Code
Select All
$rul_rowspan = ($username eq 'Guest') ? 8 : 6;

I hope that explains it.

Ronnie, if you're refering to the blue square issue regarding calendar mod, I had this issue and the calendar author wrote a little patch, check out the calendar thread (not newcalendar, the other one)

Dion

I looked at your board and what that patch does, and Throesch seems to have gone about fixing it the wrong way - by increasing the colspan of the calendar cells instead of the rowspan of the recent user cell. You end up with a really dodgy effect.

Anyway, I've updated to v1.2.3 and the mod is now compatible with the Calendar mod by Matthew Throesch. This is in addition to the New Calendar, YaBB Chat! and MSN Messenger mods. If anyone knows any more mods that add rows to the info centre, please let me know.

Download v.1.2.3 here

Thanks for those. Here we go again with v1.2.4...

The mod is now compatible, perfectly in some cases and not-so-perfectly in others, with the following mods:

  • New Calendar by Ironwing, GauGau, Nermware
  • Calendar by Matthew Throesch
  • MSN Messenger by Omario
  • YaBB Chat! for YaBB Gold SP1 by _Max, Omario, Samm
  • Top Threads by CoolMan25
  • Forum Staff Info by BHRA Webmaster
  • Countdown by Matthew Throesch

Download v.1.2.4 here

Yes ! that's the problem, why not you try to integrate Carsten's ImgSize mod,it might work with your mod.

I've looked at it, and imho it would give the mod a whole extra layer of complexity, most importantly at the user's end, that I'd much rather avoid.
