Mod Info: The long awaited release of the new improved, and generally kick ass IRC Chat mod, brings you 2 mods in one. It brings you the same mod as before but instead of using the IRCQ applet, brings you 2 new applets which you can choose between.  Please read the help documentation as explained in the Installation Instructions for help on deciding which applet to use, and by all means test thm both out by selectig the one of your choice within the admin center.

Installation Instructions:

1. copy the files to their appropriate locations. They have been placed in their appropriate folders within the zip file.

2. Install the mod. If you do not know how to install mods, please read the Boardmod FAQ.

3. Read the help docs by going into your yabb help directory and opening chatindex.htm. Please only read the first page if planning on using the "Goosemoose" applet.

4. Go into your admin center - Forum Preferences and Settings, and set the appropriate options.

I hope you enjoy this mod, and thank you for bearing with me during its production.

both applets are dependant on their servers. Read the documentation includedin the applet for more details. For instance: oneof the servers is yabb specific!

There are (2) choices of IRC applets in the mod one is the everywhere chat  and the other is hobbygab.net (which exisists for the excllusive use of yabb forum owners)

lol, hope not. Despite all the pains its given us, Yabb Chat still has a special place in or hearts . Probably yours more than mine .

I am actually working on packaging IM soon Omar. Trying to think exactly how to do so. My IM is web based, skinable and can also be installed locally. I think it will fit well into yabb just like my chat applet does.  The forums in ChatSpace are not really message board it is a weird thing that I fought not to be placed in there but it was anyway. It no way close to yabb and I only know of one customer who uses it.


Back to the IM.. the IM is tied into the chat applet so people on chat or on IM can chat with each other. I am working on building an API, well not me im hoping some of my croanies do so that will allow for easier registration of rooms, username and interaction with other apps.

If anyone has any questions Ill be happy to answer.
