Post Smileys 2.3 v0.5 / 2.3.1 v0.7


Inserts a graphic of a smiley holding a sign showing how many posts the member has in his/her posts, along with user name and other such items on the left side of one's posts.

Version History
0.7 - New mod file v0.7 for YaBB 2.3.1 Use v0.7 with 2.3.1 and v0.5 with 2.3. Also made a small fix which makes the mod more compatible with other mods.

0.5 - Beta attemp at updating this mod to YaBB 2.3 by Derek Barnstorm/Batchman, November 2008, updated with Seawolf's permission.

First release by Seawolf for YaBB 1.2/1.3 version in 2003

Instructions:

Using BoardMod, install the mod file.
Upload the modified files to their proper locations.
Upload the PostSmilies folder to the ModImages folder.
CHMOD all graphics to 755.
Go to your Admin Center and activate the feature by checking the check box.

Please Note: If you have installed other mods that also add new items to this area of the display (such as the mood mod), you will have to edit step 5 of the mod file to include the other mod.

Just a brief note ... I have no idea why, they shouldn't conflict in such a major way, but if you plan to use both the Last 5 Posts mod, and the Post Smilies mod, the Post Smilies mod needs to be installed first.

If post Smilies is installed first, both work without trouble.  If the Last 5 Posts in Message View is installed first, the post smileys do not show up.

Just a note on needed order of installation.

If you use BoardMod, Post Smileys has to be installed first anyway, because the Last 5 Posts Mod changes a line that Post Smileys looks for...

Yeah ... but I've gotten used to editing for that on the fly ... and for some odd reason, it doesn't work, editing that particular conflict. But just doing the one before the other works just fine!

Icon didn't show up in message but did in profile. Tried what you did and it worked. Easily changed though.

There was a time I thought this was a really cool mod ... and then I updated it just to prove to myself that I could figure out how to do so.

But I no longer make any use of it on my forums. If anybody asks, I will update it to 2.4, but unless it is requested, I'm just going to let it fade away again.
