I did install this and got rid of the javascript I was using. Now My quotes file has gone from 143 to 1449.

Very nice and thank you.
No issues on install.

Karman

I think your idea gave me the inspiration to write this, so thank you Wink

I only replace a tag found in the template with a piece of text found in the database (which should be clear ascii as far as I know).
I think perhaps we need to htmlize the lines before we swap them for the tag.

Could you just quickly test two things:

1. change the specials chars in the tagline database to the html equivalent

or

2. do a ToChars($taglinvar); before the swap to the tag is done ?

I'm curious what will be the result then as I actually do not manipulate the content of the database taglines in any way now, which should explain them not being shown properly.

Thanks for the mod.  I'm gonna install it today to see how well it works.

BTW - it would have been nice to get an honorable mention on your mod intro, considering I've been collecting that list of taglines that you included for well over 10 years.  But ... meh.

Hi Ron
thnx, had time to test it today.
I add ToChars($taglinvar); in taglines.dat before 1; and works.

I change in taglines.txt all oe, Oe, ue, Ue, ae, Ae to ö, Ö, ü, Ü, ä, Ä and display great.  Smiley

attached new taglines.txt for German.  Smiley

I get an error (step 5) when innstalling.

I can't seem to find the searchline ($taglineuser = $user;) in profile.pl either.

Anyone?

Ron, there used to be a random tagline mod for YaBB 1, too. It had the ability to have multiple tagline files, so some could be used in different places.

Any chance of eventually adding such a feature to the YaBB 2 version? (No harm in asking.)
