Admin Center Update
1.4 final
Mod Description
This mod adds quite a few new features to the Admin Center.
  • You can choose which profile options will show up on the member registration page.
  • You can choose the default values for various profile options of new members.
  • You can adjust the width/height of specific elements of your YaBB forums, such as the maximum height of the signature area, the height and width of the textarea when replying/starting a topic.

If You Are Updating From 0.1, 0.2 or 0.3 beta:
Please read the appropriate part of Readme.html (included in the package), as some changes are necessary in order to keep your previous variable definitions.

New package uploaded on August 10, 2006.  1.4 Final is the current version.

I have declared this mod final, and started a new topic in the Final Mods board.  There is a new download available, but nothing has really changed in it. The only change between 0.4 beta and 1.0 final is the fact that I changed the "Search And Add After" step that was causing so many problems with other mods.  It should be completely compatible now.

Hai Curtiss,

Can you implement an extra function where the admin sets the default template for all new members, YaBB sets it on forum default but I want to use another template I have.

could go in the adc update profile settings.

Thanks in advance, JanS

I probably could figure out a way to do that.  I don't know why I didn't implement that in the first place.  I guess I didn't even think about it.

I'll try to work on that within the next week or so.

Hi jans,
may be, that I understand it wrong.
You can set another template as standard for new members in the board-settings (Members and Registration-Options).
Best regards

Indeed, but isn't that just for new registering members?  so members that already exist won't be helped with this feature.  And suppose that there would be some members who don't 'know the existance' of another template than the default YaBB-template, they wouldn't ever see the one that Jans wants everybody to see.

That's just my thought, but maybe there's still something wrong about this.

The part that Jans is requesting is only for new members as well.  There is no real way to effectively change the template that existing users have set.

Mick - At the moment, you are able to set a default template for your boards by going to Admin Center -> Forum Settings.  However, that sets that template as the default for new users, and as the default for guests that never register.  Jans is asking to add the template choice to this mod, so that guests will see the template you've defined in your Admin Center -> Forum Settings, but people that register will see a different template (whichever one you set in your AC Profile Settings).

Don't make it harder then it is guys, al I asked for is;

After a member registers and has activated his account ( because only then he is a truly registered member) I want the template set to what I decide to, not the YaBB standard one but what I choose.

This is neede because YaBB 2.1 does not let you fumble with default template anymore AND I want my new users to see my own designed templates that fit my needs more.

Curtiss understood me right I am sure.

The best thing to overcome this is that you write a post for your new members that they should read, in there you can draw their attention on the template feature of yaBB  Grin

What is the signature area restriction supposed to do exactly because I just installed this mod on my forum and it doesn't seem to do anything...  Undecided

The sig area restriction restricts the height of the sig area.  If you set that to 150 pixels, and someone uses an image that's 200 pixels high as their sig, then only 150 pixels of that sig image will show, and there will be a scrollbar on the side, so that you can scroll to see the rest of the image.
