It works with 2.1...its been on mine for sometime now.
Im not a programer..however
I was able to get it working..as the mod file need only be cleaned up a bit.... anywho..here is the mod file i  used..

one thing that isnt mentioned in instructions is  the path to Mod Images Dir  may need to be changed to an absolute path:

./ModImages
