is this mod stable?

Actually, several of my mods have been stable and I have been meaning to move them to final version.  The code for this essentially the same as was for 1.3 version with some tweeaks and the addition of global announcement support.

So, yes, I think its stable......but others are still the judge.

That's because of the table and the <div>.  I personally do not think its that big of a deal.

So is there a reason why this mod still has "beta" in its version tag? Wink

Let me know when you want me to move threads to the Y2 final board.

A moderator on my forums was shifting about his sticky threads and apparently something happened in the midst of doing that.  I think maybe he got a little impatient with lag and closed his browser, (or maybe his wife was yelling at him again...).  At any rate, it seems the reshuffling requires patience because he lost half of his threads when he did that.  I had to go in and manually reconstruct the boardname.txt file and reupload to set things straight.

Just wanted to give a word of warning.  When using this mod, stress the importance of patience until its done doing its thing.

I bet he clicked twice or somethign.  This is, however, the first I have ever heard of this.  I'll make doubly sure that the file lock is on and if not, repost it.

Installed mod. Works great. But it leaves empty rows between topic and the page count... This I resolved by deleting <br> tag from messageindex.pl.

It also changes topics that have polls, so that "POLL:" text is at different row than the topic text it self.

Like this
Poll:
How great is this website
« Pages 1 2 all »

How can I make it like this:
Poll: How great is this website
« Pages 1 2 all »

And relating to same problem, when topic is new, and it has the NEW picture in front, it's also on a different row:

NEW(picture)
How great is this website

So any hints of what to do here?

The reason this happens has to do with tables and float.  The mod is the way it is upon suggestion of someone, I can't remember, that wnated the arrows on the far right.  I figured that he wouldn;t be alone so I included it the mod.  The draw back was the different things on different lines

This fix will put everything on the same line, BUT the arrows will be close to the thread topic.  I tried for a couple hours one night to use CSS to move the arrows back over, but was unable (they are in a div that is floated left; you can float the arrows right but they move to a different line).

Anyway, here is the fix.  I would do it in the mod file so just in case you remove this mod, it will remove correctly.

1) In Boardmod open the mod in the Mod Editor.
2) There are two search and replac commands for MessageIndex.pl, these we will work with.
3) Change the first replace by from
Code
Select All
			$msublink = qq~<table width="100%" cellborder="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td><a href="$scripturl?virboard=$currentboard;num=$mnum">$msub</a></td><td align="right"><font size="1">$stickdir</font></td></tr></table>~;

to this
Code
Select All
			$msublink = qq~<a href="$scripturl?virboard=$currentboard;num=$mnum">$msub</a><font size="1">$stickdir</font>~;

4) Likewise, in the second search and replace, change the replace by with

Code
Select All
			$msublink = qq~<table width="100%" cellborder="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td><a href="$scripturl?num=$mnum">$msub</a></td><td align="right"><font size="1">$stickdir</font></td></tr></table>~;

to

Code
Select All
			$msublink = qq~<a href="$scripturl?num=$mnum">$msub</a><font size="1">$stickdir</font>~;

How about this:

Code
Select All
<table border="0" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" width="100%">
  <tr>
    <td nowrap width="1%"><yabb favorite> <yabb new> <yabb poll></td>
    <td><b><yabb subjectlink></b><yabb pages></td>
  </tr>
</table>

in "MessageIndex.template" (at section "Thread bar")

instead of:

Code
Select All
<yabb favorite> <yabb new> <yabb poll><b><yabb subjectlink></b><yabb pages>

But I have no idea how it looks like once the number of posts gets higher
and the "Pages 1 2 3 .." is added. Maybe someone trys that.

Your fears were correct about the page numbers.  Plus isn;t there a thing about nowarp and IE (of course, it would be IE)?

Thanks for your help.

Using the attached mod and using the table below (replacing the same tags as in my previous post):

Code
Select All
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%">
  <tr>
    <td nowrap width="1%" valign="center"><yabb favorite> <yabb new> <yabb poll></td>
    <td nowrap width="99%" valign="center"><b><yabb subjectlink></b></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td width="100%" colspan="2" valign="center"><yabb pages></td>
  </tr>
</table>

it looks quite reasonable now:

Thats good enough for me  Grin
