Mod Author of the Year 2003 - Nominations
Jan 3rd, 2004 at 10:02pm

It's time to nominate new candidates for the famous

Mod Author of the Year Award

for the year

2003

Please post here the name (bm-nick) of the man or woman you think he/she is worth to be called "Mod Author of the Year 2003"!
Also tell us why you nominated him/her (f.ex. with some mod examples you really love).

The old poll is closed due to a lack of nominees. I'm sorry that we brought up the vote too early, perhaps, and started an unwanted discussion.

Already nominated by several emails to christer are:
  • Carsten
  • LoonyPandora
  • Dave Baughman

If you were going to nominate them, too, then plz post here why you think they should be listed in the coming poll.

Carsten, 'cause he has created a boatload of great mods in the last year, maintains impeccable support for them, adds requested features very frequently and very rapidly, and will even assist occasionally in fixing a problem with a mod that isn't even his own creation! No disrespect to any other moders this last year, but Carsten ROCKS!

It said if you had nominated one of the earlier ones, say why. I'm just following T's instructions!

it's ok though i would like to see some more nominees Wink

i nominate

Ron

b/c of his great security mods and other fixes like the "Automatic Flood Protection" (which is already a standard for much services and is also in SP2), SMTP Authorization, URL Dereferer and Recycle Usernames.

keep up your good work, ron, and we all know that you was able to code a lot of your ideas and mods into SP2.

Mmmm... although I'm not so into titles my vote goes to Carsten as he has been the most productive writer I think in 2003.

Of course I'm honored to be nominated (you forgot my Auction and a few other mods btw Torsten Tongue)

I think if anyone should give me a title it would probably be "pain in the coding ass" for hammering on correct use of code and html lately Wink

Since the list of nominees is so short, can we nominate more than one person?

I think we should post pix of all the candidates so we can get a better idea of who we are voting for.

Here's one of Ron in full pumped up modding mode...

Well, if we can nominate multiple people, I nominate:

Carsten: - has written a few really fine mods, and is constantly making mods that are suggested in the mod suggestions board - not many other people do that

Michael Prager: - not the most prolific mod writer, but the mods he does write are fantastic. Efficient, clean, and very expandable (look how much stuff you can do with the extended profiles mod... wow)

That's my nominations - of course, nothing personal against other mod writers, this is just my opinion of the people who I think deserve it the most.
