Thank you,
I clicked the icon Add Header which took me here.
http://www.mauigateway.com/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/donjusko/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=donjusko...
That just brought me back to my boards page...
Where do I add the header or header copy?

If it took you back to the main Board Index, then you did something wrong when you installed the mod - you probably forgot to upload the modified SubList.pl file.

Thanks, I'll redo the sublist and put it up.

That did it, thanks.
How come on some reply pages I can see all the previous posts but here and my forum I can not. It's very handy, is it a mod?

Fix it up  Grin

Change this in Display.pl ...

Code
Select All
	if (!-e "$datadir/$viewnum.head") { $yymain .= qq~
	  <a href="$cgi;action=addheader;thread=$viewnum">$img{'admin_header'}</a>~;}

to ...

Code
Select All
	if (!-e "$datadir/$viewnum.head") { $yymain .= qq~
	  $menusep<a href="$cgi;action=addheader;thread=$viewnum">$img{'admin_header'}</a>~;}

Just to get back roughly to the title of the thread,
does this add a secondary header underneath the thread title in the message index, as seen on phpbulletin or some such as used by www.phpfreaks.com/forums?

Flicker,

No, this mod allows the admin to add an extra 'display box' of information below the forum menu, but above the tree display and favorites list (if you use the favorites mod) that pertains to the particular thread.

The link provided in reply 2 no longer works because the forum has moved, but try this link to see a demonstration. Since the thread pertains to the most recent Harry Potter book, above the thread appears an amazon.com buy link to enable people to buy the book. This extra field is available to be added to any thread, but nothing appears -unless- the admin decides to add it.

Now up and running again, with an accurate link.

Worked for me fine ... except there's a pipe sign missing between the New Header command and the command to it's left on the command line.  Small problem that's easily fixed.  Everything else seems to work fine.  I'm concerned that there doesn't seem to be a way to limit the size of the header info, nor is there apparently a way to prohibit certain moderators from using it if you have someone abusing the priviledge.  Seems the only thing you can do in that case is remove moderatorship from the person - which seems a bit extreme to me.

Still... it's a very nice addition and really opens up all sorts of possibilities for my site.  And yes, it does seem to be completely 1.4 capable.

There's some problem when using HTML in the header message. I put in an table with 3 rows and 13 lines which is displayed without problems, BUT with 1000 empty lines above it!

Letz's say "blah" is the table, then the header looks something like that:

Code
Select All
blah

Any ideas why? By the way: I changed the maximum length of the message to 5000 but that didn't help.

Just a guess: remove any linebreaks you have in your html code.

Hm... that did the trick - but why? All the HTML code in one single line is kinda... complex and hard to edit/read. Can this be changed? The HTML code is saved with line breaks, so why is it displayed wrong?

Propably YaBB's ubbc code is interfering (replacing normal linebreaks with <br> just like in normal threads with ubbc enabled.
