BoardMod 2.5.3 Released!
Apr 9th, 2003 at 11:02pm
Print Post
Surprise! Yet another "bugfix" release of BoardMod has just been released. As the last release, it does not contain any new features, instead it fixes a couple of annoying problems found since the last update.

The following changes have been made:
  • mods & mod folders not visible on XP NTFS partitions finally fixed (Bug No. 697558 )
  • installation log output improved: if install fails, it will tell that no files will be modified (Bug No. 696333)
  • spelling in "files to edit" box fixed (Bug No. 699497)
  • added index.php to opendialog (a lot of YaBB SE users where confused by only having YaBB.cgi and YaBB.pl available)
  • added support for YaBB 1 Gold - SP 1.2 and 1.3 (added folder)
  • added support for YaBB SE 1.5.0 and 1.5.1 (added folder)

it still installs mods as slow as 2.5.2, i like the speed of 2.5.1beta3 better (tho the program opens and closes slower) -> http://boardmod.yabbforum.com/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=news;action=display;num=1040747...

My guess is that this is caused by the linebreak fixing code added in 2.5.2. But I'd rater wait 2 secs more that having mixed linebreak formats in one and the same file which would result in 500 error on perl scripts running on a unix host. And only a very few people would be able to repair such a damage in the script.

this programm ROX but ....
there is a small suggestion , and that is :
when having a mod with many actions (like 18 steps) and when trying to install it by either fast or slow auto install and if you have a problem in step 11 .. then you should make all steps manualy !? isn't that kinda diffcult ? Undecided

the juice is:
allow "open file to edit" in step by step mode so we can change the darn step that doesn't work in the mod ..

You can open the mod in the Mod Editor, and install the one step manually, then removing it from the mod file.

[It's advised that you take a backup of the mod file first]

either that or you try to get that step to install on your board by modifying the search string so that it matches to your code.

BoardMod3 will be able to skip failed steps so that you can do them manually afterwards.

what im hearing i hope isnt true for i hear that you are trying to install the BoardMod program on your website which you might be able to do but isnt the way you are to use the program

what you do is just download YaBB then download some mods you want on it and run the BoardMod program and it asks which mods you want to install.
do so
then upload your YaBB files that have now been editted by FTP or any othe way you can

but i doubt that is what you actually thought for that would be something very stupid
i just sorta wanted to talk Roll Eyes
lol

but just in case that realy was your problem that is the answer right there

I am not here to devastate my life,
I am like you,
No bother,
No pain.
