I just tested this with background images, and they are visible using ChatCE.pl from the package in the first post, but it's working fine with your fix of adding 'background-image: none;' to ChatCE.pl from post #45.

So, yes. That fixes it.

Just thought I'd pass it on. Smiley

This is a great mod.  Excellent function.

What is the procedure for integrating the Chat CE participants' list onto the boardindex so forum visitors know there are members in the chat before entering? :!blank:

No such functionality in this version - maybe later  Wink

If you open the .mod file in a text editor there is a <mod info> area where it says Quote:
Go to "Admin Center - Forum Settings - Chat" and check "Enable Chat".

The chat tab is not there. I used ftp to upload files to their appropriate directory. Is there another step.

Thank you for the response.

Did you manually editl all the files yourself or did you run the BoardMOD program on your files ?

Installed this. Went very smoothly, and seems to be working fine on my new test board. No sign of any sort of problems so far, but I have asked a couple of members to help test as well. I will pass on if any problems come up.

Meanwhile, since you eventually did get your chat feature working ... any thought as to the live chat games we'd discussed previously? Probably not, but no harm in asking.

OK, a couple of issues my members have passed on to me, and I have verified.

1) UBBC code cannot be used ... only the buttons built into the chat.

2) If you use the buttons on text you have typed after you type it, everything works fine. If you hit the button before you start typing, that style of text is kind of locked in. There seems to be no way to turn it off. You can highlight and change after typing, but you cannot turn it off to continue typing.

3) The refresh prevents you from being able to scroll to read any comments that have scrolled off the screen.

Will pass on any further issues as they are noticed.

@batchman - 1, 2 and 3 - all as intended.

It's a wysiwyg editor for relatively short chat messages, not an ordinary yabb editor.

Again, it's a wysiwyg editor. Behaving like most other 'word processing' apps.

That's why there's a 'Stop Auto Update' button between the two scroll buttons.

That's what I get for not tracking down what the extra button was for. Cool! My testing will continue!

Carsten .. I had this installed in a Y2.4 forum .. working Great, then I moved an old (Y2.1) forum into the installation ... I must of overwrote a file ... maybe in ./Variables ... due to the fact I no longer have a Chat Button appear on the Tab Menu ..
Where should I start looking ?  I disabled/enabled, still No button.

Note: I have a backup of the Y2.4 Forum, before moving the Y2.1 into it.

CJ,
you had to do import backup from 2.1 first. Then install Mods. Because you lost Settings.pl from 2.4 with 2.1 files. Wink

greetings
