beta 0.4 - more code cleanup and layout changes. Fixed page index as reported by chillipepper. All changes since beta 0.3.1 are in Ratings.pl

New zip package attached to first post.

It is possible that I am blind, but I can not find where I can put a download in the rating.

No Thomas - you are not blind. I presume you are referring to the attachments on my forum. The attachments in the "Downloads" page is a tweek i've made. Will be implemented in a later version.

Yes and i though there is a way to add downloads, because in the ratings admin settings it give's a checkbox called "Disable Guest-download".

Slightly off topic...

Has anyone managed to get it to work in YaBB v2.5?

I gave it a go and thought I got close but ended with the dreaded
CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.

If someone has managed to get it to work in v2.5 I would love a PM.

I have it working on 2.5 ... I seem to recall only a tiny minor adjustment to one of the steps to get it working.

Unfortunately, it was months ago, right after 2.5 came out, and I don't remember what I had to tweak, but I'm pretty sure it was minor.

Improving my forum, one mod at a time!

Now up and running again, with an accurate link.

Thanks Batchman, there is hope then!

I changed step 5 in the mod as there were a few changes in the text that it was searching for that stopped boardmod from installing it.  After the changes Boardbod when through with 100% "OK".

...but I have a syntax error, missing ";" or similar somewhere after applying the mod as the forum stops working.

Using perl.exe for the .pl association I get:

CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers.

and now I've moved across to perlis.dll I get

Content-type: text/html
(path) script produced no output

I'm pretty sure its something REALLY small that I just cannot see counting curly brackets.

Do you know of a syntax checker for perl scripts that I could debug this with?

Error on version Rating 4 YaBB 2.4 (beta 0.5)
The download link is for beta 0.5 which when installed on YaBB2.4 gives the forum a 505 error. I've tracked it down to an addition you made to Subs.pl. Somewhere in this section is the problem. It's new in beta 0.5 and if I remove this section, the forum returns to normal and the mod works.

Code
Select All
<edit file>
Sources/Subs.pl

Ack, now when trying to view posts I get this error: (beta 0.5)

Untrapped Error :
Undefined subroutine &main::formatURL called at ./Sources/Display.pl line 1309.

I thought I kept a copy of beta 0.4 but I cleaned out all my boardmod files recently.

After a pile of cut/paste/save/refresh/edit I've found the 3 lines in that code that were giving me grief
...and maybe your install too

Code

Removing the highlighted lines gets rid of the 505 error.

Obviously it baulks at dollar, title and backslash and I guess there might be an escape char that we can use before it?

Maybe someone with a better knowledge of perl syntax can tell us what those lines should be?

So with the above changes to step 5 and the edits in the post above I have it installed on my forum now.

The "ratings" button is on the tabs at the top of the forum and I can create a new item, I also have the Admin Center\Forum Settings\ Ratings tab
...but I cannot for the life of me workout how to add a rating to an existing thread.

I noticed Brian had a similar problem earlier in this thread...

Fps_Brian wrote on Feb 18th, 2010 at 5:57pm:
I was wondering how to get the display above the post shown
in the first picture....

*EDIT*

I gotta stop forgetting things, It works on 2.3.1 for me... I forgot to upload Menu0.def
Menu1.def
Menu2.def

...but my menu0,1,2 are all ok.

How do I add a ratings to the top of an existing or new thread?
