I do not yet understand the CSS buttons mod ... but I hope to at some point. Since I do not currently understand it, hopefully this question is understandable. Where should the CSS def.txt file go?

I've not used the CSS Buttons Mod myself (yet), but I've just took a look and there is a file included in the Variables folder named Menu.def...

Quote:
If you are using the "CSS Buttons" mod you should add these 3 lines to your "Variables/Menu.def" file:

Code
Select All
rating,Ratings/rate|img_txt|ratings|||imgmenu|mod
add_rating,Ratings/rate|img_txt|addrating|||imgwindowbg|mod
rem_rating,Ratings/remrate|img_txt|remrating|||imgwindowbg|mod

Yep - the 3 lines of code in the "CSS_Buttons_def.txt" file should be inserted in the "Menu.def" file located in your Variables folder (that is only if you have the css buttons mod installed).

I think the problem is that the css buttons are so easy to use that you just don't believe it  Grin (and my limited english vocabulary makes it hard for me to explain).

Say - if everybody used the css buttons mod (wishful thinking) you could throw away the 3 "Variables/menux.def" files and all the buttons in the "yabbfiles/Buttons/English" (and any other language) folder and just have the "Variables/Menu.def" and 2 graphics in the "yabbfiles/Buttons" folder.

Is there a 2.3.x compatible version of this mod?

There is not currently a 2.3 version of this mod.

That being said, it is nice to have it back for 2.4 ... it was not available at all for a while, and it is nice to have it back!

Can this be made so any member can start the rating process on any thread?

Nope - would take lot of rewriting - no plans for that, sorry.

I've almost got this working 100% on a 2.3.1 forum..

I was wondering how to get the display above the post shown
in the first picture....

*EDIT*

I gotta stop forgetting things, It works on 2.3.1 for me... I forgot to upload Menu0.def
Menu1.def
Menu2.def

Awesome, LOVE IT!

beta 0.3 - changed a lot of code for xhtml validity. All changes since 0.1.1 are in Ratings.pl, Ratings.lng, NewSettings.pl and Settings_Main.pl

New zip package attached to first post.

From the instructions in the mod file Quote:
To add the "Ratings" tab to the main meny do this:

Download "Settings.pl" from your server.
Insert this code at the bottom just before the "1;":

push(@AdvancedTabs, "rating");

Upload "Settings.pl".
Use the "Edit tabs" feature to push the tab to where you want it.

The only issue I see is the the itembar.gif on the post page doesnt seem to line up just right on IE  but lines up right with Firefox (firefox always wins)

Look, open this link with FF and IE  you will see what I mean...

OMG! Not one of my lucky mods  Embarrassed
I did not test in older IE browsers (or IE 8 in compatibility mode)

beta 0.3.1 - more code cleanup to make it xhtml valid and fixed rate bars align correctly in older IE browsers.

New package attached to first post.
