This really is such a good mod but the problem is that it needs to have good quizzes. I have added a few that I made on my board but most of them are pretty poor.

What would be good is for the possibility of having a quiz sharing system. Possibly a new thread here at BoardMod where quiz users upload their quiz master pieces.

Now I don't know what would be required regarding permissions etc but this could also be a mod the mod opportunity. Assuming I was allowed to do this within the rules, I would even have a crack at it if no experienced mod writers took up the challenge.

I guess the purpose of the mod would be to give the board owner a plug-in to the quiz mod that would be able to import the *.quiz files and process them to be usable on their own forums.

I haven't thought this one through properly but did think that I would at least suggest it to see what kind of reaction the suggestion would get?

Most of the thanks go to others over the years, I just did a little tweaking to keep it working on the current system. And even with that, I had help from Jet Li, due to the new tab format on the latest templates.

I don't think any mod would actually be needed to share quizzes, just uploading the quiz file would work, I'd think. The question is, does anybody do generic quizzes?

My main board has a good 30 or 40 quizzes, but they are all about books by the author who the main forum is about. I would be willing to share a couple of the quizzes from my science fiction board, but while more mainstream than the other (two quizzes on a couple of the Harry Potter books that I would be willing to share, since I wrote them), I don't have anything more general than that.

But as a test to see if they can be passed on that easily, I will zip up one of the quizzes and upload it here, so others can see if they can just drop it in to their own boards and have it work. Edit to this post coming hortly.

I think so ... that's all I had to do to move my quizzes from old forums to the new forums.

I never thought to test it (someone else can try with the quiz I uploaded), but I figure if you don't include a scores file, that it will just create new ones, which is what you would want if you were moving it to a new forum.

Mick, try the quiz I uploaded, stick it in your Variables folder (ASCII upload, of course), and then go on and manualy release it on your board, and see what happens. The absolute worst that should happen is the quiz won't work ... shouldn't do any sort of other harm.

Because the quiz file has admin on the third line when I load the file it is associated with my login name of ccarr which makes me the author of the quiz.

To change this I modified lines three and four from this:

So now I am not the author and owner which means I can now take the quiz and the author gets the recognition along with some free advertising to his website site.

For me. I had the quiz mod in v2.1 and then when I upgraded to v2.2 I copied all the *.quiz & *.quizresult files from the Variables folder. At that time I couldn't get the quiz mod to work in v2.2

When Batchman updated the mod for v2.3 I tried to edit his mod for my v2.2 forum and this time it worked and all the *.quizresult files show up correctly.

Ironically, I know almost nothing about Harry Potter so I'm scared to take the quiz in case I look like a numpty   Update: I scored 3 of 15 (20 %)  

For what it's worth, I have attached 12 (Zip File) of my own quizzes. They are maybe not that great but available if anyone wants them. They are not tested in v2.3 but I believe that they should work OK.
