Anti-Leech Mod v 1.0
May 18th, 2006 at 9:08pm
Print Post
Description:

The Anti-Leech Mod allows you to protect your bandwidth by preventing unauthorized sites linking to your images or downloadable files in your Attachments directory of your Forum.

Instead of your file, this image will appear:

I tested it on a YaBB 2.0 and a YaBB 2.1 board.

You can switch the Anti-Leech Mod On/Off in the Admin Center.

Attention:

This Mod is not compatible with the Attachment Counter/List Mod.

Includes:

English & Dutch languages files

Hello!

Thanks for the MOD! It really seem to work, but if I enter the Link of the picture's URL into my browser I am still able to open or download it. Is that normal or did I do something wrong? (YaBB 2.1)

Besides that I got this strange Problem:

I use german language, but I copied the english language-file into deutsch_DU and english. Strange that a part of the text ist shown.

Greetings
Marc

If you also select the second option, then it isn't possible to download the file if you put the link into your browser.
If you use the german language than you have to copy the AntiLeech.lng into the german language folder.
I tried it with the Deutsche_Du languages files and had no problems with it.

Do you see the right information, when you use the english language?

Ok, enabled the feature now! Tanks!
By the way... While installing I had to rename the anitleech.txt links in your mod-files to antileechcfg.txt, because the files are looking for that.

Greetings
Marc

Thanks for the feedback.

I have to change the following line in the mod.

old:

- Upload AntiLeech.txt in the Variables folder (in ASCII mode) and chmod it 644.

new:

- Upload AntiLeechcfg.txt in the Variables folder (in ASCII mode) and chmod it 644.

I'm getting the following error after loading all the files:

Untrapped Error:
Can't locate ./Variables/AntiLeechcfg in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.7/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.7 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl . ./Modules ./Modules/Upload ./Modules/Digest ./Modules ./Modules/Upload ./Modules/Digest) at ./Admin/AntiLeechEdit.pl line 30. Compilation failed in require at AdminIndex.pl line 118.

Ideas?

There is no AntiLeech.cfg file in this mod.  there is a AntiLeechcfg.txt file and that was in the Variables folder when I got the error

The issue with the AntiLeechcfg.txt is fixed now.
I also want to advise to chmod AntiLeech.pl to 700 instead of 777

Hi,

whoul it not be easyer to just put this .htaccess in the files directory:

<Files ~ "\.(gif|jpe?g|png|wmv|mpg|avi)$">
ErrorDocument 403 http://www.test.de/no.gif

SetEnvIfNoCase Referer "^http://www.test.de" local_ref=1
SetEnvIfNoCase Referer "^http://test.de" local_ref=1
Order Allow,Deny
Allow from env=local_ref
</Files>

and maybe switch it on / off by renaming it via an smal script from the admin center?

Or use it standalone....

Best,
Karl

Yes it is, but your hoster has to support that.
And mine hoster doesn't support it.
I only can block a directory with .htaccess.  Undecided
That's the reasen I made this Mod.

Great job Cheesy
BUT it only works if both options in admin menu are on. And when someone tries to download a file, it doesnt says the size.

And... its OK that it DOWNLOADS the image file instead of SHOWING it?

Another thing about the image. It doesn't downloads correctly (im not speaking about just myself), it downloads kinda scratched
