Old-school problem with easy fix,... I hope...

Guys and gals,... I'm one of these people who is running an old-school version of the forum.  I, like many who run their forums as a side thing, just don't have the time to do or keep up with all the upgrades and, in any event, have made SO MANY small alterations directly to the code over the years, which, moreover, I do not have well documented, that I know that doing the upgrade will end up being a TOTAL NIGHTMARE.  Someday, when I have enough money, I'll just hire our YaBB gurus here to get the job done... right.  Until then, I'm more than happy with the product I am using.

So, without further ado,... onto the problem it looks like I've been experiencing since day one four years ago or, at least, that has cropped up without my noticing... until today...  Why, when you do a "Member # Reset (or Recount, I think)", does the 31st of the month and the 1st of the next month get compressed into one day with member numbers being "reset" according to the time of the day (over those two days) without respect for the date?  I.e., let's say member #1 joins at 9:00 A.M. on August 31st; member #2 joins at 8:00 P.M. on August 31st, and member #3 joins at 6:00 A.M. on September 1st.  If I do a "Member # Reset (or Recount, I think)", the member originally numbered #3 becomes member #1, original member #1 becomes #2, and #2 - #3 based on the HOUR they join irrespective of the date, i.e. the fact that member #3 joined a day later.  It's like the program is not making a distinction between the 31st of a month and the 1st of the next month.  What's up with that?

I guess until now my site has been small and this hasn't been a big deal, but as my site continues to grow, this would probably become a HUGE headache.  I'm thinking this was a known bug, but I couldn't find a fix for or any information on it in the FAQ section(s).

As for the logistics,... I am running (REALLY old-school here) YaBB 1 Gold - SP 1.1, and, the (relevant) mods I've added are Advanced Membergroups 1.5, YAMS (I don't know which one, 4.03 or 5.02) and MBCO 2, and, if this helps, my forum can be accessed via http://www.fantasyfootballer.com.

Any ideas?  HELP!!! Cry Thank you in advance for anything helpful...  Right now, I'm at a total loss. Undecided

Here is some information that I think should (hopefully) elucidate this problem I'm experiencing...

My default member list display setting is according to registration date (which is what I like).  I went ahead and went into the relevant files and manually fixed the member numbers for the member accounts that this problem is effecting.  But, now, when I view my members list, the "problemed" sections display "out of order" as per the following section of my members list (the "problemed" accounts are in bold):
Registration Date Member #
Aug 30th, 2002, 9:34pm 6
Sep 1st, 2002, 1:43am 10
Sep 1st, 2002, 7:40am 11
Aug 31st, 2002, 7:51am 7
Sep 1st, 2002, 7:56am 12
Aug 31st, 2002, 2:05pm 8
Aug 31st, 2002, 4:35pm 9
Sep 1st, 2002, 7:33pm 13

There were no more "August 31st" sign-ups, so it's okay after that (even though there are two more "September 1st" sign-ups not listed).  If you were to sign up and sign in to my forum (accessible via http://www.fantasyfootballer.com) and access my members list, you will see the above for yourself (on page 1 of the list) and you will see that the problem crops up again between member #'s 978 and 999; they're all jumbled up.

Again, any ideas, anyone?  HELP!!! Cry
