I know this is not a new mod but I installed it today and now wish I had done this before now.  Embarrassed

Hey, I'm using yabb backup and i have all directories set for backup.

these options are selected:

Tar (/bin/tar)
No tar compression

when i run the backup it creates two backup files for some reason. is this a bug? basically it creates the same file twice but with a different name and a .tar extension.

That could be an artifact of your tar program. I don't have any control over that. But you can try Archive::Tar or Archive::Zip for better measure.

Kind of. The error routine stuff won't work, so you'll get an error about the error messages if an error occurs.

Maintenance mode doesn't work, if I remember correctly. So you need to set that manually.

Otherwise, it should be good. It's untested, of course.

Sadly, I do not have the time to test and release an updated version right now. I have no issue with someone updating it, as long as the code is good quality Wink

I just installed in YaBB 2.2.1 and it installed fine...
When I went to use it I got:

Error: Untrapped Error :
Unmatched ) in regex; marked by <-- HERE in m/\$maintenancetext = "We are currently upgrading or backing up our forum again. Please check back shortly! It should only take 45min. If its not back up and running by then.... I messed up. Wink <-- HERE ";/ at ./Admin/YaBB2Backup.pl line 470.

I am running YaBB 2.2.2 and, after running the mod, I get the following error message:

no errors here on YaBB 2.2.2 and I use this every few days.

Have you created the the folder /cgi-bin/yabb2/Backups/
