I thought there was going to be a Split/Splice function built into it as well... or am I thinking of what is now called YaBB3?

There is a splice function in YaBB2. Haven't found a way to split yet.  Wink

Edit: Michael beat me... and I found the split button. lol

I thought Rebuild Message Index was going to be included in this release.  Is it there somewhere, and I'm missing it, or was I mistaken?
  
Currently using Y2.3 With no mods (though that will hopefully change, soon).

Not that I dont' have faith in those putting it together but do you know whether the Split/Splice function was totally rewritten or is this BHRA Webmaster's Split/Splice mod.

The reason I'm asking is because there are a number of bugs in BHRA's mod.

I'm also wondering, since i haven't had a chance to look at it yet, can it split/splice across boards and catagories?

As for RebuildIndex, that's another I was surprised to not see listed.  Iw oudl have expected it to be listed too.

From what I can tell, it doesn't appear that you can split/splice across boards or categories.

I don't see anything for Rebuild Index, either. I guess that'll make a nice mod for someone to make.

It seems that even though the Polls mod was included, Showcase Polls wasn't.   Undecided

Oh - and anyone have any idea how to get rid of the large gap between categories? I'm working on trying to figure out how to edit these templates, but it's a lot more involved than it used to be.  I haven't even figured out yet how to edit the header.

Thanks Michael - I was able to figure that out on my own after going back and forth between the source of a loaded page, and the template itself a few times.

I am really impressed at just how much work has gone into this new software.  It's going to take a lot of getting used to, but I think some fantastic achievements have been made.

Just discovered that a news script has been included in Y2 too, too bad that it lacks a lot of functionality the original news mod has...

Excellent to hear.

Can you tell us what is is lacking or, for better phrasing, what the YaBB1 News mod has which Y2 doesn't?

Edit...

The only things I can see at the moment, which I use at 3DXL, is showing of Avatars in the News title and making it so it will display posts when in Maintenance mode (not asking for admin login and showing as normal)

I'm sure htere are ohter things but I can't think of any. Tongue
