I'm not sure what happened. After re-writing the message (I did have to relocate the posters message afterall) and getting the-email address from the .txt file, all went well. ???

I have another problem... normal users can also see the mail links from users who hide their email address in profiles in the memberlist... global moderators's can't! Shouldn't it be vice versa  Wink ? So at the moment normal users see more than global moderators do!

I still use the memberlist you changed for me... no further changes made
(Download my Memberlist.pl)

I probably swapped two lines as Global Moderators are not in the mod so I did it quick and dirty.

Yes, would be great. As I guess users are not amused everyone can see their email address although they hide it.

I think the YaBB standard is that only the admin can see hidden email addresses, right? So how global moderators see the memberlist would be ok then because they also aren't able to view hidden addresses in profiles.

So the only thing that has to be done is that normal users don't see the hidden addresses.

Well, visible is a big word as they only see the coded version but you are right, hidden should be hidden Grin

I think Global Mods see email adresses throughout the board, but I'll check that one before I make this happen Wink

When I log in as global mod, I cannot see hidden email addresses in profiles... and I also can't see the email icons in posts from that people. So it's really meant to be that only admins see hidden addresses.

Mmmm, you have a strange memberlist as you should have a switch to allow showing of email to gmods somewhere in your admin center, but other then that I cannot find any changes due to things I altered.

All the comparisions to show or hide email are original and also the links that are shown.

Can't figure out why it shows up like that.

I found a bug in the if statement for the global moderator mod which I will try to fix in your Memberlist.pl but the equation if gmods are not allowed to see email is wrong.

Try the memberlist.pl attached as I think I fixed the gmod problem in it.
Actually it was a bug in the Global Moderator mod (I do not know this version btw) and not my mod Wink

Many thanx Ron, it works now! Now I can allow or disallow global mods to see hidden addresses and normal users don't see them in any case Smiley .

I'm no coder, so I don't understand that whole error thing... was the error caused by some other mod? I wouldn't wonder at that... as I've installed nearly 90 mods.

Oh, you were faster, hehe... my global mod version is 2.2 I think... the name is "global mods 22 sp13".

It was a rule of thumb error made by the programmer of that mod.
If you do an if on 4 vars not true you can use the AND or && command in the if, but if one of the vars shoud be true (like in this case position eq Global Moderator you cannot use AND or && but you should use OR or || to make the if statement work.
In the original mod code if gmods were not allowed to read email addresses the remaining statement always failed and gave normal users admin view Wink
