The info center isn't done yet, so far I have just been doing the BoardIndex (the main part), I will be doing the rest after that.

I knew about the gradient image-thing, just using a small image and repeating it (like I do for the body, and the other boxes, but it never occurred to me to use it there. I don't know what I was thinking  Thanks for that too

A thought just struck me about the fade you've got behind the forum details within each catagory:

at the moment, it looks like you are using a standard image as the background fading from grey to white. On the first catagory this looks great because there are 6 forums so there is enough room to display the whole fade. The second catagory however only has 3 forums, so the background fade is going from grey to light grey.

There are two possible ways around this:
1...use the style definition for the table to stretch the background image so the complete fade is shown each time.
2...use some nifty perl code the actually change the background colour of the forum rows. You know the number of forums within each catagory, so it should be relatively simple to calculate the #RRBBGG value that each background should have. This would have the advantage that the colour transitions would then help define and seperate each of the forum rows. (The disadvantage here though would be for catagories with few forums, as the difference between each of the colour steps would be greater, and catagories with only one forum would have no fade at all!)

No really, provided everything is kept consistant, with everything having the same style/feel, then you should be able to avoid it looking "overdone".

I don't know if you can specify the height/width of a background image directly, but you can with standard images, and you can specify percentage sizes. You might have to set up some kind of multi-layer design with an image placed beneath the table.
