That did it whisper.  The one I missed was in membername.quiz.

I'm only doing this for one quiz.  I'm not going to do this for everybody who felt they could have gotten a better score.  lol

Thanx again.

I agree.  A control for the admin because I'm sure this request is going to come up again.

Well I should be able to get to that point, I've just had an 18 hour crash course in reading/writing files with this update.  :dizzy2:

Here's a new version, if there are no wicked bugs hiding in there,  I'll update the first post in a couple of days.

Changes since .96c:

Added optional comment field for each question, to supply useless trivia and whatnot, shows on Results page after "Your answer was wrong/correct."
Added onLoad focus and better tabbing through forms to add quiz/questions.

I've given it a good work out, seems to be fine, and you can even add comments to old quizzes. Let me know how it goes. Smiley

For those updating, it may be simpler to just upload the new Quiz.pl and in your english.lng, find:
Code
Select All
$quiztxt{'84'} = "Hey! What are you up to? You already answered this question!!";

And add after it:
Code
Select All
$quiztxt{'85'} = "Comment:";

Otherwise, uninstall old and install this one.

I have a non-integrated quiz program that I love dearly.  It has a few options that the quiz mod does not.  Like a random question data base.  I can enter 100 questions, and tell it to include 10 randomly in the quiz.  This way, a student can retest on a subject, without getting the same questions/answers.  Attached is the source.  You might get some ideas from it.

I've seen a bug that I don't know if it has been observed before, but I tell...

If u make a quiz with ten questions, for example, and u update with ten more, in a second part, scores dont update.

People aren't supposed to take a quiz until it is done. That part isn't a bug.,

But we do need a better way to tell the system that a quiz is done, so it isn't available for people to take it before it is finished.

@Dracomiconia, I didn't write this script, I only updated it with the author's permission, and added the comments so far. There have been a few feature requests, and I'll do my best to learn enough perl to work them in one at a time. The timer is next. Comments was "easy" it only took 36 hours, lol (By the time this mod is finished, I'll have learnt enough to write the mod I want. Wink )

I agree batchman, that should be changed as well.

If anyone is interested in helping further this mod, by all means, please do!

@Nuke Worker, thanks for posting that, I'll take a look. Smiley

I had Omaro modify it (quirex), to use the YaBB user ID's.  It's a nice little program... I'll post that code later.  You might want to take some of the ideas.  Here is a link to the operating program:

I've gone ahead and manually added the quiz script but haven't fully tested as I can't take my own quiz so I was wondering what would be the effect if I registered under a different nick then took the quiz and logged back in as admin and deleted this other nick.

I realise I can just set-up a dummy quiz to test but I want to know if by following the first method, everything is updated to reflect the adjusted quiz difficulty plus high scores etc.

Other things I noticed are:

$quiztxt{'12'} = "Participiants";

should be:

$quiztxt{'12'} = "Participants";

and

$quiztxt{'10'} = "Question Number";

would maybe look better as:

$quiztxt{'10'} = "Number of Questions";

How about the facility where upon giving you the result it says:

45% of participants got this question right.

where the script works out the correct percentage & shows this for each question. Not an important addition but an idea anyway.

Almost forgot - the box where you add the question looks out of place as all the YABBC tag icon boxes sit across & above this input box apart from 3 which seem to wrap round and locate at the bottom left making things look out of place. I'm using a mac and the latest I.E. don't know if this makes any difference.

Anyway, keep up the good work!!

maybe never made things clear in my previous post. I set-up a dummy quiz, then registered using another nick & took the test.

I then deleted this nick and see that the details such as nick, score etc remain, I was wondering if there may be a case for having the choice of deleting a persons score etc.

In cases where people may be registering just to abuse the system or whatever.

It's a good suggestion. It would be handy to have the results editable.  And the earlier suggestion of a percentage of users who got a question right, that's good too. I will try to add more features like these when I next get some time to work on this mod. Hopefully in a couple of weeks, as football season starts soon and hubby will be occupied with that, which gives me more time to do my own thing. Wink
