news_template.html should be in the same directory as your YaBB.pl file and not in your Sources directory  Wink

Just read the installation instructions which are in the .mod file:

Quote:
------------------------------
Using multiple news templates:
------------------------------
It is possible to use multiple news templates. Todo this, simply create a new html template for your news and put the new file into the same directory as news_template.html. Please note that the filename of these new templates may only contain letters, _ and - and must end with .html for security reasons. Example: news_template2.html

To call such additional templates, simply add a ";template=news_template2.html" to url in the tag you added into your homepage (where news_template2.html is the name of the new template).

The javascript tag for example would then look like this:

<script ate2.html"></script>

Hmm... just one suggestion - in my own forum, I added a <yabb printpage_url>-tag - it could be very useful in business sites - the version for printing. You may add it to the next release of your news script too... Smiley

There is no similarity between the word "Iceberg" and me, but it sounds right for me and that's why I'm using it

In the previous version of the News Script, it allowed us to display the number of news articles by adjusting the value of the 'dsp' property (ex: dsp=10 would display 10 news articles).  This function doesn't seem to work anymore.

I read the installation, but it has nothing on 'dsp'.  The only thing i found was inside the News.pl file where it asks you to set a number to represent the number of news articles to display for every template.

Am I doing something wrong?  Or is this how the display function will work from now on.

There never was a "dsp" option in the official news script mod. What you're talking about is the News Script Plus, which was based on my news script but was not written by me. The number of news entries displayed can be set by modifying the $display variable, as always

Sorry about that.  Didn't know there were two different mods.  I understand i can modify the $display variable, but i'll affect all templates.  I have some templates that only require 5 posts to be displayed, and some that require 10.

Is there any way to do this with this mod?

The mod can easily be altered by editing News.pl. Look for

Code
Select All
$display = 10; # number of news to display

and replace it with

Code
Select All
$display = $INFO{'display'}; # number of news to display

Now you can set the number of news by adding ;display=5 to the tag you added to your homepage.

That's not true, when I'm logged out on your board, I can't see or access any board.

I fixed it once you select a member group you can't unselect all the member groups. Too bad there isn't an allow guests mod.

Try holding down your Control key to select/deselect more than one membergroup.  I know you can set in your Admin Settings: "Disallow Guests from doing anything but login and register?: UNCHECKED".  I like my Guests to look @ content and info before they decide to sign up, but that's just me.
