Hmm, this code is displayed above the profile fields when the admin tries to view the profile:

Code
Select All
~; if(Administrator eq 'Administrator') { .= qq~
~; } .= qq~

And pretty much the same for guests/other members.  Here is the link if you want to see:
http://www.wakefieldworldwide.com/cgi-bin/st/YaBB.pl?action=viewprofile&username...

It still displays the Address as well, I copied your code exactly, I'll attach the profile.pl file as well if you want to take a look.  Thanks, Luke

I did all the modifications michael posted in his tutorial and now I can't get to the profiles anymore! I keep getting:

"Untrapped Error:
Unrecognized character \240 at ./Sources/Profile.pl line 391. "

What oh what should I do ?

Ok, I spoke too soon.  I'm not sure whats going on with this thing now, but when I try to edit my profile, it re-arranges everything.  Like the username will be under the address field, the zip will be in the real name spot, its all messed up.  Any ideas on what would cause this?

Thanks, Luke

Can anybody help me out, whenever I try to edit the profile, it re-arranges all the information.  I even took the new fields I added out of the modify profile page, but just editing even the password messes up the entire profile.

Any ideas on what could cause this?  Heres the URL to see what I'm talking about.

This is just what I need to do - add fields to the registration form - but am not good at all this. Need your help to do following:

In addition to the USERENAME and EMAIL fields, I want that the REGISTRATION FORM must have the following fields of the PROFILE and new user must have to fill out these fields directly when registering:

NAME
DATE OF BIRTH
LOCATION

How to do this?
Thanks!

i tried to work with the tutorial.. but some things arent clear to me! following problem i have:

i tried to modify the register.pl in that way that the registrar has to input his birthday! so far so good.. now my problem is, that the input isnt written correctly to the profile file of the user! if i am not mistaken, the user file is read line by line, and in line 17 the birthday is given! now how do i get it to be written in the right place? cuz currently the input gets mixed up in other places! ... i hope this makes sense..

i think this is the wron part:

code:

</add after>

<search for>
     print FILE "$member{'email'}\n";
</search for>

<add after>
     print FILE "$member{'bday3'}\n";
     print FILE "$member{'bday2'}\n";
     print FILE "$member{'bday1'}\n";

</add after>

.................

i think the bday has to be in one line in this format: day/month/year .. correct?

the complete mod is in the attachement...

$member{'email'} is line 2 of a file. Which means, your three birthday lines is then line #3, 4, and 5, and that's SERIOUSLY messing some YaBB settings up!

Code
Select All
unless(0) { stab("LoonyPandora"); next; }
